cancellation of 2026 race

Out of an abundance of caution, the Habitat Pittsburgh Youth Triathlon scheduled for tomorrow, July 18th, has been cancelled. The health and safety of our participants, families, volunteers, and community remain our highest priority.

Tomorrow’s air quality forecast for Allegheny County indicates levels that will be unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, older adults, and individuals with heart or lung conditions. Given these conditions, proceeding with the event would not be responsible.

This marks the first cancellation in the event’s 24-year history outside of the COVID-19 pandemic. While we are disappointed that we will not be swimming, biking, and running together this year, we look forward to welcoming you back for the next Habitat Pittsburgh Youth Triathlon on July 17, 2027. Registration will open later this year.

Thank you for your understanding, your continued participation, and your longstanding support.

PS: Habitat Pittsburgh is currently working to setup time windows for participants to stop by our office to pick up your race shirt and race bag! We'll update you as soon as we have a plan.

Please note: The 2026 race has been canceled due to air quality safety.

Racing to Build Homes, Communities, and Hope

The Habitat Pittsburgh Youth Triathlon is more than a fun race, it raises funds to support our nonprofit's affordable homeownership and home repair opportunities for low-income families. Over the past 25 years, our annual Youth Triathlon has engaged nearly 8,000 young athletes and raised over $1.3 million in support of our mission to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope in Allegheny County.

This year Habitat Pittsburgh is celebrating our organization's 40th anniversary! Thank you to all our athlete fundraisers and generous sponsors – together, we build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter.
